Laser Vein Therapy for the Face & Body
Unsightly facial and leg veins can vanish into the past – without painful injections. With the most advanced technology, a unique design and a longer wavelength, CoolGlide Laser Systems can safely and effectively treat both tiny superficial face veins and deeper blue leg veins.
The CoolGlide Difference
CoolGlide Aesthetic Systems combine the ideal laser wavelength with the most flexible parameters to deliver a superior vascular laser system. They treat a broad range of vessels from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins quickly, safely and effectively. Patients of all skin tones can experience outstanding results with minimal bruising or blistering.
How does CoolGlide Vein Therapy work?
CoolGlide Systems deliver pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Bloodflow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.
Who can be treated with CoolGlide Systems?
CoolGlide Laser Systems feature a unique handpiece with variable spot size and long wavelength (1064 Nd: YAG wavelength). This allows treatment of patients of all skin tones and targets deep reticular veins, spider leg veins and facial telangiectasia, as well as other vascular lesions elsewhere in the body.
What about blood blisters and port-wine stains?
Blood blisters or “hemangiomas” respond very well to CoolGlide Vein Therapy, usually with just one treatment. Patients with port-wine stains and other vascular lesions have been overwhelmed by the success of their CoolGlide vascular treatments.
What happens during treatment?
Most patients experience a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece, although no local anaesthesia or pain medication is required. Following the treatment, pain is minimal to nonexistent.
Often, patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient for success. However, the number of treatments necessary depends on the number, colour and size of the vessels being treated.
What happens after treatment?
Following your treatment, some redness or bruising may occur. When larger veins are treated, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months following treatment. Patients who have leg vein treatments may be advised to wear support hose for a short period of time.
Although many patients report few if any side effects, the most common are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin. These effects last for less than twenty-four hours. Some patients may experience bruising and, in rare instances, blistering may occur. Patients generally resume most normal activities immediately. However, it is recommended that you avoid vigorous activities and sun exposure for the first twenty-four hours after treatment.
When will I see results?
Most patients find the treated veins have shown significant improvement within two to six weeks of treatment. However, your final results may not be apparent for several months.
Scherotherapy: Injections for Veins
Depending on the size of the vein, Schlerotherapy might be considered an optimal alternate. Medium to larger sized veins may be treated by compressive Schlerotherapy. There are significantly large veins, linked to the deep venous system, that cannot be treated by lasers or Schlerotherapy, but must be treated with surgery or EVLT (Endovenous Laser Therapy).
